What Remains With Us
This exhibition was conceived as a memorial for my father on his first birthday since his passing, but also as a way of bringing people together through art in a manner that felt true to how he engaged with it in life.
Rather than treating it as a formal display, I approached it as a living space, bringing together works from our personal collection alongside those held by close friends and collectors. The intention was not to present a fixed narrative, but to allow relationships between the works and the people around them to emerge more organically.
The inclusion of a brunch element was important to this, shifting the experience from something purely observational to something more participatory and social. It created a space where conversations could unfold alongside the works, rather than around them.
This project shaped how I think about exhibitions not just as sites of display, but as spaces that can hold memory, relationships, and shared experience, while maintaining care and attention to the works themselves.
